The threats of terrorist acts against critical infrastructure are becoming "even more realistic and large-scale" against the backdrop of the escalating situation in the Middle East, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu said during a field meeting held today in Yekaterinburg within the Ural Federal District.
"Today at the meeting, we will discuss the issue of ensuring the security of critical facilities from the threats of sabotage and terrorist acts under the conditions of the special military operation," Shoigu stated. "Against the background of rapidly developing military actions in the Middle East and a sharp aggravation of the geopolitical situation as a whole, such threats are becoming even more realistic and large-scale."
