Marlen Mamataliev, the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh (the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan), has arrived in Russia for an official visit at the invitation of Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the State Duma. This trip marks Mamataliev's first foreign visit since his election as Speaker in February 2026.
Upon his arrival in Moscow, Mamataliev was scheduled to hold an initial meeting with Volodin to lay the groundwork for formal bilateral negotiations set for March 26. The discussions aim to enhance the inter-parliamentary dialogue and coordinate legislative efforts on key regional issues. According to the State Duma’s official statement, the agenda will focus on the continued development of cooperation between the legislative bodies of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
