Sudan’s Ambassador to Russia, Mohammed Sirraj, has described the current relationship between Sudan and Russia as the strongest in their history, speaking at a press conference focused on Sudan's internal situation.
“Sudan-Russia relations began long ago, in 1956, when Sudan gained independence, and even during the Soviet Union era, we had various joint projects,” he noted. “Today, our relations are at their highest level.”
Sirraj emphasized Sudan’s desire for Russia to play a pivotal role in the country’s recovery efforts following the internal conflict. He pointed to the existing frameworks for collaboration, highlighting their significance.
“There are mechanisms of cooperation between our two countries,” the ambassador stated. “This includes an intergovernmental commission that covers various areas such as healthcare, education, and others. We are striving to develop this partnership."
