A delegation from the Taliban movement is participating in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), represented on-site by Afghanistan’s ambassador in Moscow, Mawlawi Gul Hassan, a TASS correspondent reported.
On the sidelines, the head of Afghanistan’s diplomatic mission plans to attend a series of expert sessions and explore cooperation prospects with counterparts from other countries.
In particular, Gul Hassan joined a panel on the “Greater Eurasian Partnership,” which also featured Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk and Shanghai Cooperation Organization Deputy Secretary General Sohail Khan.
Earlier, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu said a majority of SCO member states support resuming ties between Afghanistan and the organization.
