A delegation from the Taliban movement (banned in Russia), which is currently in power in Afghanistan, has been invited to participate in the "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" scheduled for May. Zamir Kabulov, the Russian President's Special Representative for Afghanistan and Director of the Foreign Ministry's Second Asia Department, informed TASS.
"Yes, they have plans [to take part], and they have been invited," he said.
Kabulov also mentioned that Russia's cooperation with the Taliban government on anti-terrorism efforts "is being conducted on a regular basis." "There is no special news here to add," he noted.
The International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" will be held from May 14-19 in Kazan.
