The United States have been suggested to develop a joint statement or agreement on preventing nuclear war by the Russia’s request in 2018, as well as strengthening strategic stability in the world, but the capital of USA Washington has ignored this initiative without responding to it.
According to the mass media sources, the newspaper Kommersant writes that Moscow has proposed to document the obligations of the United States and the Russian Federation to act in such a way as to prevent the use of nuclear weapons, since, as noted in the document developed by Moscow, “there can be no winners in a nuclear war should never be released”.
It is known that in February the United States have announced its withdrawal from the INF Treaty. Russia, in response, also has suspended its participation in the Treaty.
Furthermore, the issue of extending the Treaty on Measures for Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms, which expires in 2021 is still unresolved.
