Kazakhstan views Russia as its principal strategic partner and a reliable ally, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated during a session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
“Russia is our main strategic partner and trusted ally,” Tokayev said, as quoted by his press service. He highlighted the successful demarcation of the world's longest land border between the two countries, achieved through mutual agreement from the outset.
Tokayev also emphasized the deep-rooted and friendly relationship with China, noting that "the Chinese people have never harmed the Kazakh people and will not do so in the future."
Speaking about regional neighbors, the president of Kazakhstan welcomed the recent progress made by Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan on long-standing border disputes, describing the agreements as historic and a significant achievement.
He expressed strong fraternal ties with neighboring nations, affirming that Kazakhstan respects the Uzbek people “as our own brothers,” considers Turkmenistan a kin nation with shared ancestry, and shares a special bond with Azerbaijan, united by the Caspian Sea.
“In short, we maintain fraternal and supportive relations with all neighboring states,” Tokayev concluded.
