Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu announced Wednesday he tested positive for COVID-19.
"My test result came back positive for COVID-19 today. Luckily, I have mild symptoms and will continue to work at home without any break," he wrote on Twitter.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on February 5 that he and his wife had contracted the omicron coronavirus strain. The president later said he was continuing to work remotely because doctors had confirmed a mild course of the disease. Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, who accompanied the Turkish leader on a visit to Kiev on February 3, said he had also contracted the coronavirus.
The Turkish leader announced last week that he had recovered and was visiting the UAE from February 14 to 15.
