UN Security Council to Hold Iran Meeting on January 15 at US Request

The UN Security Council will meet on January 15 to discuss the situation in Iran at the request of the United States, Somalia’s permanent mission to the United Nations said.


“Acting on the request of the United States, the presidency intends to schedule a briefing on the situation in Iran under the agenda item ‘The situation in the Middle East’ for Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 15:00 (23:00 Moscow time),” the Somali mission’s press service told journalists.
