The UN Security Council will vote on Tuesday on a resolution to extend the work of the mechanism providing cross-border assistance in Syria, a source at the world organization told reporters Monday.
"The vote is scheduled for 09:00 (16:00 Moscow time) on July 12," he said. The resolution is based on a Russian draft.
As First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the world organization Dmitry Polyanskiy said earlier, the Russian draft was taken with minor modifications. It provides for a six-month extension of the mechanism with a possible extension for another six months by a separate resolution.
