US military forces have struck infrastructure used by groups affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This was reported in a statement issued Tuesday by the US Army Central Command (CENTCOM) press office.
"At the direction of President [Joe] Biden, the US Armed Forces launched high-precision strikes today (Tuesday) in Syria's Deir ez-Zor. <...> The US strikes targeted infrastructure used by groups affiliated with the IRGC."
The Pentagon also noted that "US troops remain in Syria" to achieve the final defeat of the terrorist group Islamic State (banned in Russia) and ensure the safety of its citizens.
