Uzbekistan Proposes Hosting CIS Regional Forum in Tashkent

The CIS Executive Committee has received a note from Uzbekistan proposing to host the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Regional Forum in Tashkent, announced Sergey Lebedev, Secretary-General of the organization.

 

“The CIS Executive Committee has already received a note from Uzbekistan suggesting that the CIS Regional Forum be held in late April in the city of Tashkent,” Lebedev told reporters ahead of a meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives of CIS Member States.

 

Lebedev noted that preparations for the forum are now underway among the CIS countries.

 

On December 12, during a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko proposed to organize the first Regional Forum of CIS Member States.
