The government of Uzbekistan has dispatched a humanitarian shipment to Afghanistan, consisting of food, medical supplies, and a "health train" staffed with Uzbek doctors. From December 25 to 30, these medical professionals will provide free health check-ups for residents of Balkh Province, located near the Uzbek-Afghan border.
According to the press service of the Surkhandarya region administration, "At the directive of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, was sent to Afghanistan. Additionally, residents of Balkh Province will have the opportunity for free medical examinations by qualified Uzbek doctors using a 'health train' comprising nine medical service wagons."
This initiative follows a request from the Afghan government, raised during bilateral discussions between the two countries.
