Volodin Calls for Thorough Investigation of Series of Explosions in Lebanon

19 September

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has urged a thorough investigation into the series of explosions involving various electronic devices in Lebanon. He also emphasized the need for international institutions to develop measures to prevent such crimes, warning that without such action, global safety would be compromised.

“A series of explosions involving pagers, phones, radios, and other electronic devices occurred in Lebanon. More than 3,000 people were injured, with several dozen fatalities. This incident must be thoroughly investigated,” Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel.

He pointed out that a well-planned, high-tech attack like this could have serious global consequences. Volodin stressed that the fact that household electronic devices were used as explosive devices demands a proper inquiry.

He also noted that the potential for mass production of such “weapons” elevates terrorism to a new level. “This is a global threat to all countries. International institutions must develop measures to combat such crimes, or no one will be able to feel safe,” Volodin concluded.
