Alexander Yakovlev proposes to nominate the book “Middle East Christians: Past, Present, Future?” for the Metropolitan Macarius Prize.

Alexander Yakovlev, professor at Moscow State University and lead researcher of the Arab and Islamic Studies Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, took part in the presentation of the book “Middle East Christians: Past, Present, Future?”

“First of all this book attracts me by its vast and systematized information. It employs a comprehensive historical and religious approach. The author uses essays to explain the position of Christians in the Middle East. Behind the religious plot you have a civilizational approach,” said Alexander Yakovlev.

“I would like to make a proposal: the Institute of Oriental Studies should nominate the book for the Metropolitan Macarius Prize."

The presentation of the book “Middle East Christians: Past, Present, Future?” by Alexey Sarabyev was held by the Russia – Islamic World strategic vision group.
