On August 11, at the Galleev Mosque in Kazan, Tatarstan President, Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a festive prayer on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha holiday. Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov and Chairman of the Council for Muslim Education of Russia Rafik Mukhametshin, who are also memebers of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World", took part in the event.
Mufti of Tatarstan, member of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" Kamil hazrat Samigullin held a festive prayer. Before preaching a traditional sermon, he presented congratulations from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
Mufti of Tatarstan described in details the origin of Eid Al-Adha (named in Russia as Kurban-bayram). He reminded about the great challenge of the prophet Ibrahim, who was ready to give his own son's life in the name of faith. But Almighty had mercy and the sacrifice was replaced by a ram.
Kamil hazrat Samigullin told about the deepest meaning of the ceremony of offering sacrifices. Moreover, he touched on family values, the upbringing of children and care for relatives.
