Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on his victory in the extraordinary presidential elections held in the republic last Sunday.
"The results of the past elections convincingly demonstrate the strong support of the people of Kazakhstan for the process of broad renewal of the legal foundations and functional systems of the sociopolitical and socio-economic life of the country initiated by you. Your fellow citizens entrusted you with the fate of the Kazakh state and their future, which in the current conditions of unprecedented global instability is especially valuable and serves as a vivid confirmation of your solid authority of a strong, experienced statesman and a visionary, talented politician," says the text of the message released by the press service of the president of Tatarstan.
"I hope that the multifaceted potential of traditionally benevolent cooperation between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan in the framework of Russia-Kazakhstan relations will continue to be fruitfully realized through our joint creative efforts. I am convinced that strong multifaceted ties between our brotherly peoples are an important contribution to the strengthening of universal peace and understanding," Rustam Minnikhanov added.
Early presidential elections were held in Kazakhstan on November 20. According to preliminary data, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev won 81.31% of votes. The voter turnout was 69.44%.
