Putin congratulated the airborne troops and veterans on their professional holiday

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the personnel and veterans of the Airborne Forces (Airborne Troops) on their professional holiday, the Kremlin press service reported this on Monday.


"The people of Russia know that you will never fail. You will always, reliably and firmly stand guard of the national interests and security of the country," said the head of state in his congratulatory message, the words of which were quoted by the press service.


Putin noted that the Airborne Troops have always served in the ranks of the special strong spirit of people with brotherly solidarity and indomitable character. According to the president, the paratroopers solved responsible tasks promptly and competently, showed courage, bravery and boldness in difficult, non-standard situations. "They showed an example of selfless devotion to the Motherland," the Supreme Commander-in-Chief added.


Putin stressed that the current generation of soldiers and officers is very proud of the heroic history of the Airborne Troops, treats veterans with deep respect and honors the traditions established by them.


Airborne Troops Day is celebrated annually on August 2.
