Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his congratulations on Russia-Belarus Unity Day, emphasizing the deep historical ties and shared values between the two nations.
"I warmly congratulate you on Russia-Belarus Unity Day—a holiday symbolizing the unbreakable bonds of brotherly friendship, our shared historical destiny, and common spiritual and moral values," Putin stated in his address, published on the Kremlin’s website.
He highlighted that in today’s complex international climate, coordinated efforts between Russia and Belarus are strengthening the Union State’s defense capabilities and ensuring its security. Over the past 25 years, both nations have made significant progress in developing their partnership and advancing integration, with tangible benefits across various sectors.
"Citizens of Russia and Belarus enjoy equal rights in healthcare, education, social security, and pensions, as well as in choosing their place of residence and work. Productive trade, economic, scientific, and cultural cooperation continues to expand, along with interparliamentary and regional ties," Putin noted.
He also underscored the two countries’ commitment to defending their legitimate foreign policy interests and working together with international partners toward a "fairer multipolar world order." As the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War approaches, Putin stressed the importance of preserving the memory of past sacrifices and standing united against any resurgence of neo-Nazism, ensuring global peace and security.
Expressing confidence in the continued growth of Russia-Belarus relations, Putin reaffirmed that this cooperation serves the best interests of both nations. He concluded by wishing success and prosperity to all those celebrating the occasion.
