Russia is a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional country; this should not be forgotten, but cherished, as Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized at a meeting with military pilots in the Tver Region.
"We should never forget that we are a multi-ethnic, multi-confessional country. We should always treat with respect - we do so - our brothers, representatives of other faiths: Muslims, Jews, everyone," the president emphasized while speaking about the transfer of the Spas Nerukotvorny icon to the troops.
"It is necessary to treat our interethnic and inter-confessional peace very carefully," the head of state added.
