Russian President Vladimir Putin will deliver a traditional New Year's greeting to Russians, there are no plans to change the format, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Wednesday.
"We never tell how and when the president's New Year's greeting is recorded, I can only say that the president will traditionally address the Russians at midnight and wish them a Happy New Year. Of course, every presidential New Year address bears the imprint of a bygone year and contains certain key phrases and key messages for the coming year. This will be the case this time, too," said the Kremlin spokesman.
When asked if there are any plans to change the "interior" of the address, which is traditionally recorded against the background of the Kremlin, Peskov said: "No, no changes are planned."
Earlier, the head of state himself told reporters that he would try to celebrate the New Year in the circle of his loved ones and watch his New Year greetings to the citizens of Russia on television.
