In Russia, 12,126 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in a day, a record - more than at its peak in May, the total number rose to 1,272,238, the operational headquarters to combat the spread of the coronavirus told reporters.
"In the last 24 hours in Russia, there were 12,126 confirmed cases of new coronavirus infection COVID-19 in 85 regions, including 3,272 (27.0%) actively detected without clinical manifestations," the report says.
It is added that for all the time 1,272,238 cases were registered in the country. The growth rate was 1%.
Vice-premier of RF Tatyana Golikova earlier called May 11 the peak in incidence of the coronavirus in Russia; then 11 656 new cases were detected.
