Sherkhan the tiger, the son of the famous Amur tiger from the Primorsky Safari Park, will be sent to the UAE as part of the breeding program of this species in zoos,  the Park's Director Dmitry Mezentsev said. According to him, the tiger will be sent to the al Bustan Zoological center in Abu Dhabi.

"Sherkhan will go there for breeding, to the bride. While there are no exact dates, it may happen in the fall – it will depend on when international flights will open, what the weather will be there," the source said. Mezentsev noted that the animal would be sent to the UAE as part of the program of the Eurasian Association of zoos for the conservation and reproduction of the Amur tiger. "According to it, tigers are transferred for free (between zoos-ed.), selected so that there is no closely related crossing," the source said.

Sherkhan is the son of the Amur tiger and the Ussuri tigress, who was born in the Moscow zoo's nursery. Ussuri did not accept Sherkhan and another kitten after giving birth in 2016 and refused to feed them. One died five days later, and the other was rescued.

The Amur tiger has become famous all over the world, making friends with the goat  Timur in 2015. The goat was brought to the tiger's enclosure as prey, but the predator did not eat it, as Timur fought back. The goat even took the tiger's sleeping place, forcing him to sleep on the roof of the shelter. The animals spent the night separately, but during the day they walked together in a common park. Amur and Timur became the Internet stars and got several million views on YouTube. In 2019, Timur died.
