Parents of 180 boys born on December 31 and named after Chechen national heroes will each receive 500,000 rubles, according to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
“On that day, 222 children were born in the Chechen Republic, 180 of whom are boys. All 180 were given names of our national heroes,” Kadyrov wrote, adding that the payments will be distributed soon.
The most popular names chosen were Akhmat, Baysangur, and Sheikh Mansur. The initiative was funded by the Akhmat Kadyrov Regional Public Foundation, named after the Hero of Russia.
“I am grateful to everyone who honored our national heroes by giving their children these names. This is a significant step that not only shows respect for the history and deeds of our ancestors but also sets a valuable example for future generations,” Kadyrov stated.
