The Caucasus Investment Forum (CIF) has kicked off in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic. Over the next three days, the forum will host more than 60 events, including a plenary session titled "The Greater Caucasus: From Sea to Sea," according to the press service of the Roscongress Foundation.
"The Caucasus Investment Forum, held from July 15 to 17 in Grozny, combines the functions of an intellectual center and an effective business platform, where negotiations are conducted and contracts are signed, contributing to the growth of investment and the implementation of large-scale initiatives," said Anton Kobyakov, advisor to the Russian president and executive secretary of the CIF organizing committee.
The plenary session of the forum will be moderated by Andrey Kondrashov, Director General of the TASS news agency. TASS Deputy Director General Andrei Sokolov will participate in the session "Investment Appeal of the Caucasus from the Standpoint of Foreign and Russian Business Partners" on July 15 and will moderate the session "Development of Southern Russia: Investing in Quality" on July 16.
Approximately 4,000 guests from more than 50 countries, including over 300 experts, are expected to participate in the forum's events. The forum will also host a meeting of the governmental commission on socio-economic development of the North Caucasus Federal District, with the participation of regional heads and federal agency representatives. Moreover, the Caucasus Investment Forum will serve as a platform for negotiations and the signing of business contracts for the development of investment projects and public-private partnerships in Russian regions, with more than 70 agreements planned.
In addition to the business program, the forum will feature youth, sports, and cultural events. The youth program includes not only traditional discussions and round tables but also educational intensives, masterclasses, and meetings. As part of the cultural program, the Caucasus Investment Forum Cup horse races and excursion programs are planned, and on July 15, participants will be able to witness spectacular MMA fights in the Coliseum sports hall.
In 2024, the forum will host the inaugural Vershina Investment Award ceremony, recognizing contributions to the economic growth and development of investment potential in Russia's regions. The competition received more than 250 applications from 42 regions of Russia. In 2023, the event was attended by over 3,000 participants, and agreements worth more than 150 billion rubles were signed.
The Caucasus Investment Forum aims to realize the investment potential of the North Caucasus Federal District and increase the sustainability of its socio-economic development. The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, and TASS is the general media partner.
