Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov announced the beginning of the third stage of lifting restrictions in the republic imposed because of the coronavirus, and the lifting of restrictions on movement within the region, the Grozny TV channel said.

Earlier, on June 16, Kadyrov said that after June 20 up to 90% of restrictions on the coronavirus would be lifted in Chechnya, and cafes, street restaurants and playgrounds would open.

"At a meeting of the operational headquarters for countering the coronavirus, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the third stage of lifting restrictions. The checkpoints are abolished, it's possible to move freely around the republic, it's allowed to open retail outlets and public places, and government employees start working in the normal mode," television announced.

Since April 5, Chechen authorities have closed the region's borders for entry and exit, except for transit transport and food supplies. In addition, restrictions on movement in the republic were introduced from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., as well as two-hour passes to shops and pharmacies.

At the same time, it is still necessary to strictly comply with Rospotrebnadzor regulations on the prevention of COVID-19 - from wearing masks to observing a social distance," Kadyrov said in his Telegram Channel.

According to him, there is still a ban on mass events - from weddings to religious rites, on the activities of catering enterprises in enclosed spaces and some sports facilities. The situation at the borders will also be strictly monitored, and air passengers arriving in Grozny must be given certificates that they have no coronavirus. Hospitals and polyclinics will return to their normal mode of operation.

Kadyrov also instructed all government officials and media workers to check for viruses and antibodies.

"We are preparing for any variants of development around the coronavirus pandemic. There is a bed fund, oxygen, ventilators, medication in case the situation becomes more complicated. There are plans for new oxygen stations in Grozny's 4th municipal hospital and republican psychoneurological clinic, which operate autonomously in the event of a power outage," Kadyrov said.
According to the latest data, there are 1600 cases of coronavirus infection in Chechnya, of which 1153 have recovered and 20  died.
