Muslim marriage ceremonies were temporarily banned in Chechnya

In Chechnya, the performance of marriage ceremonies according to Muslim canons has been temporarily suspended, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the regional Muftiate.


"Mufti Salah-Haji Mezhiev made a statement that the marriage under Sharia law was officially suspended due to the current epidemiological situation," the message reads, in particular.


In Chechnya, according to the latest data, 49 confirmed cases of infection with coronavirus infection were registered, five of the patients died.


Since April 13, the Republic has implemented a permit regime for trips related to the purchase of food and medicine.
