Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov told live on his Instagram page about his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to Kadyrov, his father, who was the head of the Republic at that time, introduced him to the head of state in 2000.

"The first time, Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov introduced me to our President in Sochi in 2000. Later there were also meetings in Mozdok and Gudermes," Kadyrov said, in particular, answering a subscriber's question about his first meeting with the Russian leader.

Akhmat Kadyrov was appointed head of the Chechen administration by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin in June 2000. On May 9, 2004, Kadyrov was killed in a terrorist attack in Grozny while celebrating Victory Day.

He was posthumously awarded the Hero of Russia for his courage and heroism during the rebirth of the Chechen Republic and in the fight against terrorism.

24-year-old Ramzan Kadyrov in 2000 served in the headquarters of a separate militia company at the Interior Ministry's Department of Internal Affairs in Chechnya. He became the head of the Republic in 2007.
