Chief infectious diseases specialist of the Russian Federation: Kabardino-Balkaria can share experience in the fight against coronavirus

Kabardino-Balkaria (KBR) can share its successful experience in the fight against the coronavirus with other regions of the country, says Vladimir Chulanov, chief infectious diseases specialist at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The expert gave this assessment to the work of doctors during a meeting with the head of the region Kazbek Kokov, the press service of the head and government of the region told reporters on Tuesday.

 

"The well-coordinated work of hospitals, the provision of personal protective equipment, the professionalism and dedication of doctors - all this is admirable, you can share your experience with other regions," the press service quotes Chulanov.

 

The head of the Republic thanked Vladimir Chulanov and stressed that the expert assessment is very important in further work on the prevention and control of new coronavirus infection, taking into account the seasonal increase in the incidence of influenza and SARS. "Direct interaction with leading Russian specialists will enable us to coordinate actions based on the latest recommendations and best practices," said Kokov.

 

Vladimir Chulanov has been in Kabardino-Balkaria since September 17 as the head of the working group of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on audit and methodological work on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of new coronavirus infection. A delegation consists of leading specialists of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, National research medical center of endocrinology of the Ministry of Health, Northern State Medical University ( Arkhangelsk), National medical research center of radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, National medical research center named after Almazov, Central research Institute of health organization and informatization of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. "The working group visited hospitals with particularly dangerous infections, studied the organization of routing and medical care for patients with coronavirus infection from risk groups, consulted severe patients, as well as methodological work in specialized areas. The next visit of the working group of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation is scheduled for the end of the year," the press service said.

 

As of September 22, 7,319 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the region, of which 6,385 people recovered and 90 died. More than 175 thousand tests and 31 thousand A CT-scan were conducted. In hospitals, 854 patients receive medical care, 37 of them are in intensive care, 29% of those infected have asymptomatic carriers, and 37% carry the infection in a mild form.
