Kazbek Kokov Re-elected Head of Kabardino-Balkaria

Kazbek Kokov has been unanimously re-elected as the head of Kabardino-Balkaria by the regional parliament. All 69 deputies voted in favor of his candidacy, with support from all five political parties represented in the local legislature.

 

In his address, Kokov outlined ambitious goals for the republic, aiming to increase the region's gross regional product (GRP) to 700 billion rubles and raise local revenues to 48 billion rubles by 2030. He emphasized that achieving these objectives would require dedication and hard work, stating, “Working for the benefit of Kabardino-Balkaria and our country has always been and remains my primary life goal.”

 

Kazbek Kokov, born in 1973 in Nalchik, graduated from the Kabardino-Balkarian Agro-Meliorative Institute. His career includes roles such as Deputy Director for Commercial Affairs at the Nalchik Halva Plant (1995-2002) and General Director of KabBalkResources (2002-2010). He also served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kabardino-Balkaria from 2010 to 2013, and as Advisor to the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation on Domestic Policy until 2018. Kokov became acting head of Kabardino-Balkaria in 2018 and officially assumed the position in 2019.

 

The inauguration ceremony will take place on October 3 at 3:00 PM in Nalchik's government building.
