Uzbekistan’s Supply of Diamond Tools from Kabardino-Balkaria Reaches 80%

19 August

The industrial sector of Uzbekistan is now supplied with 80% of its diamond tools from Kabardino-Balkaria, amounting to over $3 million annually, according to a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Botirjon Asadov, and representatives of the business community in Nalchik.

“We supply diamond drilling tools to Uzbekistan worth about $3 million a year. These are diamond tools used by various, including the largest, geological exploration companies. We even established a local office in Uzbekistan for this purpose, with a warehouse storing the products to ensure timely deliveries to companies in need. We cover around 80% of Uzbekistan’s demand for diamond tools,” said Anna Khupova, Deputy General Director of Terekalmaz, in an interview with TASS.

Terekalmaz, located in the Tersky District of Kabardino-Balkaria, is one of Russia’s largest manufacturers of diamond drilling tools and has cooperated with Uzbekistan for over 20 years.

Ambassador Asadov and General Consul Mehriddin Khairiddinov are on a working visit in Nalchik. The diplomatic delegation met with regional leaders, business representatives, and members of the Uzbek diaspora in Kabardino-Balkaria.

“There has been noticeable growth in trade turnover with Kabardino-Balkaria in the last two to three years. The trend is positive. We also found many similarities in mentality, which forms a strong foundation not only for business but also for the development of cultural and humanitarian ties,” Asadov said during the meeting with entrepreneurs.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia and Uzbekistan’s trade turnover reached about $20 billion in 2024, marking a 30% increase.
