Putin: Preserving National Unity and Traditions Key to Russia’s Development

03 July

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that preserving the unity of the Russian people and their traditions and values is a key to the country’s development and stability in a fast-changing and complex world.

Speaking at the plenary session of “Strong Ideas for a New Time” forum under the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) forum, Putin said:

“As we build a successful technological present and future, it’s vital to also preserve what makes us one people — our traditions, values, and national identity. This is a key condition for the country’s development and survival in a changing, complicated, and contradictory world.”

He also praised the forum participants, calling them dedicated workers and patriots. Referring to one of the forum’s slogans — “Being an entrepreneur is patriotic” — Putin said he fully agrees and has seen this demonstrated many times in recent years.

Putin chairs ASI’s supervisory board and regularly takes part in its events. The “Strong Ideas for a New Time” forum is aimed at identifying and supporting initiatives and projects that strengthen Russia’s sovereignty and help achieve national goals through 2030. Each year, the most promising proposals are personally presented to the president and then put into practice.
