Tokayev Emphasizes Kazakhstan's Commitment to Diversify Relations with Russia

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed the country's dedication to broadening ties with Russia across various sectors. During a meeting in Astana with Bashkortostan's head Radiy Khabirov, Tokayev underscored the significance of the visit in providing additional momentum to the comprehensive relations between Kazakhstan and Russia.

 

Tokayev highlighted ongoing efforts to diversify cooperation, spanning industries, the agro-industrial complex, and the humanitarian sphere. The president commended the successful implementation of agreements, including the 2023-2024 cooperation roadmap signed at the governmental level. He also positively assessed the trade dynamics between Kazakhstan's regions and Bashkortostan, with trade indicators exceeding $350 million by the end of November 2023, solidifying Kazakhstan as one of the top three trade partners for the Republic of Bashkortostan.

 

In response, Khabirov expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and acknowledged Tokayev's attention to fostering relations between Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan. He highlighted the significant growth in trade turnover and industrial cooperation over the past few years, emphasizing Kazakhstan as a key partner for Bashkortostan. The leaders opened the "Kazakhstan - Bashkortostan" forum during the visit.

 

The meeting placed special emphasis on enhancing collaboration in trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian, and industrial spheres, reflecting the mutual interests of both regions.
