A Center for Arabic Language and Culture will be established at Dagestan State Pedagogical University (DGPU), named after Rasul Gamzatov, according to the regional government’s press service.
The decision follows a visit by Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov to DGPU, where he reviewed the university’s demonstration exam hall, equipped with modern facilities for skill assessments. He also toured the "Warrior" Military-Sports and Patriotic Training Center, named after Russian Hero Zalibek Umaev, which was created on the instruction of Dagestan’s regional head Sergey Melikov.
DGPU trains over 10,000 students annually from various parts of the region and is recognized as an effective educational and methodological hub. Under Russia’s "Education" national project, the university has undergone significant upgrades, including renovations and the launch of the "Quantorium" Pedagogical Technopark.
As one of the leading federal educational institutions in the region, DGPU consists of 16 faculties, including Dagestani Philology, Preschool Education, Law, and Physical Culture. The university’s vocational-pedagogical college plays a crucial role in training specialists tailored to the economic needs of Dagestan.
