Believers are advised not to go outside during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr and not to visit cemeteries. This was stated by the mufti of the Republic of Dagestan, Ahmad Abdulayev, in an address to co-religionists posted on the website of the Muftiat of the region.
"We strongly request that you do not leave your home for the holiday, do not visit your relatives, neighbors, or friends for a festive feast this year. Let's celebrate this day in our homes, with our families and good wishes to everyone in this world," Abdulayev said, in particular.
He suggested that believers take video greetings and send them to each other.
"I also strongly recommend not to visit cemeteries this year. It is enough for our dearly departed if we pray for them-each at home-and do Dua. The Almighty has angels who, if he allows, will inform our deceased that we remember and love them, " Ahmad Abdulayev explained.
The mufti also thanked the faithful of the region for the help they provided to the local hospital.
"In this month of Ramadan, many of you have been active, extending a helping hand to each other. Thanks to the ordinary people the third city hospital started to operate, your donations allowed us to purchase all needed in order to be able to receive patients with the coronavirus. Thousands of families received free iftars, necessary food and medicine, " the mufti of the Republic of Dagestan summed up.
Earlier, according to RIA Novosti, the Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin said that the mosques in Moscow and other regions will be closed to worshipers during Eid al-Fitr (Uraza-Bayram), and invited to watch the broadcast of prayers, to be patient and celebrate the holiday at home.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 18 asked Muslims to listen to the calls of the Muftis and celebrate Eid al-Fitr at home, to abandon collective prayers and the tradition of gathering on this day in large companies. He said this during a meeting with the leadership and representatives of Dagestan.
Earlier it became known that the authorities of Dagestan plan to introduce a strict access regime in areas of the Republic with a poor epidemiological situation, where people do not observe self-isolation.
This was stated by the head of the region Vladimir Vasiliev.
"The head of Dagestan stressed that municipalities, where growth dynamics is observed, should not fall out of sight. In addition, he warned that in municipalities with the worst conditions, a stricter regime may be introduced, " the government's press service said in a release.
"I am already preparing such an option to introduce a strict access system somewhere. We will ensure order, but it can not be brought to this, and it depends on you and me. Where the situation is improving, it is necessary to create more comfortable but safe conditions for people's lives," Vasiliev was quoted as saying by his press service.
