Putin instructed the government to support Dagestan in the fight against coronavirus

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government to provide financial support to Dagestan until May 25 to implement measures to combat the new coronavirus infection.


"The government of the Russian Federation should provide additional financial support to the Republic of Dagestan through Federal budget allocations for the implementation of measures to combat the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19)," reads, in particular, the list of instructions following a meeting with the leadership and public representatives of Dagestan, held on May 18.


Rospotrebnadzor is instructed to constantly monitor the epidemiological situation in Dagestan, as well as develop recommendations to counteract the spread of the coronavirus.


"The Federal service for supervision of consumer rights protection and human well-being should ensure that the epidemiological situation in the Republic of Dagestan is monitored on an ongoing basis, as well as develop recommendations to counteract the further spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in this territory," the list published on the Kremlin's website reads.


The Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with the authorities of Dagestan, will organize large-scale events for sanitation of the territory of the Republic, paying special attention to social facilities.


"The Ministry of Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, together with the government of the Republic of Dagestan, will organize large - scale measures for sanitary treatment of the territory of the Republic of Dagestan, paying special attention to social infrastructure facilities (social institutions, health organizations and educational organizations), as well as places most frequently visited by the population," the Kremlin reports.

The Ministry of Defense, with the participation of the government of Dagestan, was instructed to build an infectious diseases medical center with 200 beds in the region.


"The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, with the participation of the government of the Republic of Dagestan, should ensure the construction of a 200 - bed infectious diseases medical center on the territory of the Republic of Dagestan using standard projects of prefabricated structures," the document says.


The head of the Defense Ministry, Sergey Shoygu, and the head of Dagestan, Vladimir Vasiliev, were appointed responsible. According to the document, the report should be submitted by June 30, 2020.


Today it became known that the second group of the rescue center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations from Noginsk near Moscow arrived in Dagestan for large-scale disinfection of social objects.


Earlier, the department reported that special equipment and specialists of the Ministry of Emergencies from Rostov-on-Don and Noginsk, after the instruction of Russian President Vladimir Putin, advanced to Dagestan to conduct a large-scale disinfection of social facilities. The total number of groups will be 140 people and 26 pieces of equipment. On Wednesday, the Don Don Rescue Center began disinfecting facilities in Dagestan Khasavyurt and Kizlyar.


"A group of 80 people and 14 pieces of equipment from the Noginsk rescue center of the EMERCOM of Russia arrived in the Republic of Dagestan to carry out disinfection in the settlements of the Republic. The EMERCOM specialists who arrived were met by Nariman Kazimagamedov, head of the main Department of the EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan," the Agency's release reads.


On May 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the leadership and public representatives of Dagestan, where the head of state said that the situation with the coronavirus in the Republic is not easy.


Earlier it was reported that in the Republic more than 40 doctors died from community-acquired pneumonia and coronavirus infection. Later, the regional Ministry of Health clarified that the cause of their death was not only pneumonia and COVID-19, but also other diagnoses.


The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova reported that the stabilization of the situation with the spread of the coronavirus in Dagestan is just beginning and is "in a very fragile balance".
