About the Holidays

Dagestan's Unity Day, celebrated annually on September 15, commemorates the republic’s victory over Nadir Shah’s troops in the mid-18th century. Mawlid al-Nabi, the third most important Islamic holiday after Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr, celebrates the Prophet Muhammad's birth.

The event was organized by the Dagestan Muftiate, with support from the Ministry of National Policy and Religious Affairs and the Kizlyar city administration.
