Russian Health Ministry's Chief Specialist in Infectious Diseases Arrives in Dagestan

Vladimir Chulanov, the chief infectious diseases specialist of the Russian Health Ministry, has arrived in Dagestan to offer organizational and advisory support following the widespread water poisoning incident in Buynaksk. He will visit hospitalized patients, as reported by the region's Health Ministry press service.

 

"The chief specialist in infectious diseases of the Russian Health Ministry, Vladimir Chulanov, has arrived in Dagestan in response to the outbreak of intestinal infection in the city of Buynaksk. In the morning, he met with the Minister of Health of the Republic of Dagestan, Tatyana Belyaeva, the head doctor of the Republican Center for Infectious Diseases, Ravganiyat Mirzaeva, and the department's staff. Now, accompanied by his Dagestani colleagues, Chulanov has proceeded to the central city hospital of Buynaksk, where he will provide organizational and advisory assistance to specialists," the report states.

 

According to the latest information, the number of hospitalized individuals after the mass poisoning in Buynaksk has risen to 84. Additional beds have been set up in the city hospital. Intestinal pathogens were discovered in water samples, leading to the initiation of a criminal case.
