Special flight with a team of Moscow doctors arrived in Dagestan

A special transport with a team of Moscow doctors and a batch of medicines arrived in Makhachkala to help in the fight against COVID-19, the press service of the regional government reports.


"A special flight from Moscow with a team of highly professional doctors and the first batch of medical products for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 coronavirus was met at the Makhachkala international airport," the regional government said in a statement on Instagram.


The special flight, as noted, delivered to Dagestan a team led by a surgeon with experience in repurposing hospitals for the treatment of the coronavirus and organizing the medical process. The team also includes highly professional pulmonologists, infectious disease specialists, anesthesiologists, resuscitators, radiologists and resuscitation nurses who have already been fighting the coronavirus for several months.


Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin asked Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin to support the regions and send teams of Moscow medical workers there. First of all, according to him, Dagestan, North Ossetia, Ingushetia, as well as the Zabaykalsky Krai need help.
