Putin Extends Congratulations on Ingushetia's Centennial

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory message to Ingushetia's head, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, and the region's residents, marking the 100th anniversary of the Ingush Autonomous Oblast. In his message, Putin highlighted the republic's substantial agricultural potential, alongside its burgeoning industrial and tourism sectors.

 

"Today, the Republic of Ingushetia boasts significant agricultural, industrial, and tourism potential," - Putin's telegram, published on the Kremlin website, stated. - "The region is actively attracting major investments, implementing large-scale social projects, and enhancing its transportation infrastructure."

 

The president emphasized that the establishment of the Ingush Autonomous Oblast was a significant milestone in the history of Russia's nation-building process, contributing to the region's socio-economic development, and safeguarding the language, culture, and heritage of its people.

 

"You can rightfully be proud of the legacy and achievements of generations of your fellow countrymen," - Putin continued. - "They have written illustrious chapters in the military and labor history of our nation, making invaluable contributions to science, arts, and education."

 

Expressing confidence in the region's future, Putin concluded, "I am certain you will continue to capably address the challenges facing the region, for the benefit of the republic and the entire Russian Federation." He wished all success and prosperity.

 

The year 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of Ingush statehood. On July 7, 1924, the Ingush Autonomous Oblast was established within the RSFSR, with Vladikavkaz as its administrative center. The autonomy existed for a decade. In April 2021, Putin ordered the formation of an organizing committee to prepare for the celebration of Ingushetia's centennial in 2024.
