Crimean Tatars responded to Kravchuk's statements about the Peninsula

The head of the Crimean regional national and cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars, Eyvaz Umerov, said that the idea of Ukrainian ex-President Leonid Kravchuk to return the Crimea would fail.

Earlier, the first President of Ukraine, the representative of Kiev in the contact group on the Donbass, Leonid Kravchuk, said that the contact group for the settlement of the situation in the Donbass could not deal with the issue of returning the Crimea to Ukraine, for this purpose another delegation with Crimean Tatars should be created. He noted that the Constitution of Ukraine should clarify that Crimea is not just a territorial autonomy, but a national territory.

"The attempt to create another delegation with the involvement of Crimean Tatars who have escaped from the Crimea and are parasitic on anti-Russian sentiment in Ukraine is doomed to another failure. What this delegation can do well is to launder the next funds allocated for this event," Umerov told RIA Novosti.

According to him, there are no forces in the world that could help return Crimea to Ukraine.

"This has been proved by the international policy of the last seven years. And Kravchuk, as one of the leaders who contributed to the collapse of the USSR, is not at all creative. I would advise not to stand out against the general national-fascist background, so that he does not get a "Hello" from the real Crimean Tatars from the Crimea, who are fully integrated into the multinational family of Russia," Umerov said.
