All attempts to use the tragedy of the deportation of the Crimean peoples to incite hatred and enmity will be strongly and harshly suppressed, This, according to RIA Novosti, is stated in a statement by the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov in connection with the Day of memory of the victims of deportation.

"Today is the Day of memory of the victims of deportation. This memorable date unites all Crimeans, regardless of their nationality. We condemn the deportation of peoples as one of the greatest crimes. We grieve for those who did not live to see the return to their Homeland, and we express our deep sympathy to all our countrymen who were subjected to repression, their relatives and friends. We will continue to resolutely and harshly resist attempts by the enemies of Crimea to use the tragedy of deportation to incite hatred and enmity," Aksenov said, in particular.

The head of the region stressed that the government of the Republic continues to implement the decree of the President of Russia on the rehabilitation of the Armenian, Bulgarian, Greek, Italian, Crimean Tatar and German peoples and state support for their revival and development. This decree, according to him, became an important basis for the state national policy in the region and allowed to finally restore historical justice.

"According to the results of last year, the construction of a number of important social facilities, including three kindergartens, was completed. Energy and transport infrastructure facilities were built, people received keys to new apartments, as well as financial assistance to complete the construction of individual housing, and improved their living conditions. During the year, 36 titles of books were published in the languages of the peoples of the Crimea, " Aksenov said.

A number of socially significant projects in the field of housing representatives of rehabilitated peoples, despite the situation with the coronavirus, as noted by the head of the Crimea, will be implemented this year.

During the Great Patriotic war, representatives of 20 nationalities were forcibly deported from Crimea on suspicion or charges of treason. The Crimean Tatars suffered the most - more than 183 thousand people were evicted from the Peninsula. After the 2014 referendum, the Russian President issued a decree on the rehabilitation of the Crimean Tatar and other peoples of the Peninsula.
