A delegation of officials from Afghanistan will visit Kazan, where they will meet with representatives of the business community, Ivan Nechayev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said at a briefing on Thursday.
"Officials from Afghanistan will visit Kazan, where they will meet with representatives of the business community. We think that the visit will serve for further strengthening of practical cooperation between Russia and Afghanistan as well as stabilization of social and economic situation in this country," he said.
Nechaev reminded that on August 15, an Afghan delegation led by Nuriddin Azizi, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the interim Taliban government (the Taliban is banned in Russia), started its visit to Russia. "As part of the work on the issue of supplies of Russian agricultural products and fuel to Afghanistan, talks were held with the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Russian Ministry of Energy," he added.
The diplomat specified that "the delegation plans to return to Afghanistan on August 21".
