Five other suspects, in addition to the stepfather of the teenager, were detained in the case of the attack on the police station in Tatarstan, the Kukmorsky District Court reported RIA Novosti on Monday.
Earlier, a source in law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti that the court had detained the mother's cohabitant.
"During consideration of the application on the election of a preventive measure to Marat Zamaliyev [stepfather] the application was satisfied, he was detained for two months. When considering the request of the investigation to extend the period of detention up to 72 hours in respect of five citizens, the motions were also granted," the agency interlocutor said.
At the same time, he confirmed that all six are in the same case as suspects. RIA Novosti has no comments on the investigation so far.
According to the local media, Zamaliev has a criminal record for blowing up the gas trunkline in late 1999. Diversion - that's how the investigators qualified it - was carried out by a group of radical Islamists, who were trained in Chechnya in the Shamil Basayev and Khattab camps. As the investigation and court proved, Zamaliyev was the group's leader. The court sentenced him to 14 years in prison.
Attack on the police department of Kukmorsky district of Tatarstan took place on the night of last Friday, October 30: a 16-year-old boy threw two Molotov cocktails into the territory of MIA department of Kukmorsky district and tried to escape, but was caught by the policemen.
While trying to detain him he stabbed one of the policemen several times and as a result, the policemen had to use a weapon. The teenager died on the spot.
According to a RIA Novosti source in the law enforcement agencies, the young man shouted "Allah Akbar, I will kill you all!"
A criminal case has been initiated, including an attempt on a terrorist attack.
