Tatarstan will cope with the task of training personnel for the possible production of 10 Tu-214 aircraft per year, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said on Tuesday during a working visit to the Kazan S.P. Gorbunov Aviation Plant with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov.

"We believe that this task is feasible for us. It is clear that we need to modernize and prepare the production for 10 planes. Our part is the training of personnel, engineering specialists, workers. We will cope with this task," said Minnikhanov.

Borisov said earlier on Tuesday that the Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov will be able to produce at least 10 Tu-214 passenger planes per year. He noted that now there is a question of the possibility of using Tu-214 by Russian airlines such as Aeroflot, Red Wings and others.

The first flight of the main narrow-body twin-engine Tu-214 took place in 1996. Now these airplanes are used by the "Rossiya" special flight squadron and also as special flights. They are produced in small series in Kazan for special missions. The planes use Russian engines and only domestic components.
