ICL to start motherboard production at its plant in Tatarstan in 2023

ICL will launch the production of motherboards at a new plant in Tatarstan in the third quarter of 2023. CEO of ICL - KPO VS Evgeny Stepanov announced this on Wednesday at the meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC Tatneftekhiminvest-holding. 


"In the first quarter we start the assembly production, new conveyor lines. And in the third quarter, actually, the production of motherboards," Stepanov said, answering a question about the timing of the plant's launch. 


Earlier Minister of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Khairullin informed that the motherboard production plant will be located in the Innopolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Tatarstan. Investments in the project are estimated in 2 billion rubles. The plant will be able to produce motherboards in the amount of 300 thousand items per year, with an increase of up to 1 million items per year.

The company was founded as a joint venture in 1991 on the basis of the computer plant of Kazan Production Association of Computer Systems (KPO VS) and the British company International Computers Limited (ICL).
