Minnikhanov officially assumed the post of President of Tatarstan

Rustam Minnikhanov, who won the presidential election in Tatarstan, officially assumed the post of head of the region on Friday. The ceremony was held in Kazan at the Salih Saidashev Grand state concert hall.

 

Minnikhanov took the oath in the two official languages of the region-Russian and Tatar, putting his hand on the Constitution of the Republic.

 

"I solemnly swear to faithfully serve the people of the Republic of Tatarstan to ensure the rights and freedoms of citizens, the sovereignty of the Republic of Tatarstan, to observe the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan and laws of the Republic of Tatarstan to implement in good faith entrusted to me high duties of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan", - said Minnikhanov.

 

Earlier, the Central Election Commission of Tatarstan recognized the presidential election, which took place on September 11-13, as held, and their results are valid. 63-year-old Minnikhanov ("United Russia") received 83.27% of the vote in the election. More than 1.9 million people voted for him.
