A meeting between Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin, Chairman of the Central Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, was held at the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The parties exchanged views on several current issues, including the preservation of traditional values and strengthening interfaith dialogue.
"It is a great honor to meet with you," Minnikhanov stated addressing Tadzhuddin.
The rais of Tatarstan also highlighted Mufti Tadzhuddin's special role in the project to revive the historic city of Bolgar and develop the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve.
During the meeting, Minnikhanov presented Mufti Tadzhuddin with the state award of the Republic of Tatarstan – the Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan medal. The award recognizes his outstanding contribution to preserving and developing spiritual and moral traditions, as well as strengthening interethnic and interfaith peace and harmony.
The meeting was attended by Mufti of the Religious Board of Muslims of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin, Head of the Office of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, and other officials.
