Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Ahmed bin Mohammad Al-Jarwan.
"You are at the head of an authoritative international organization that works to achieve important global goals of peace and tolerance," said Rustam Minnikhanov.
The president of the republic spoke about how Russia widely celebrated the 1,100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria Empire at the federal level. He emphasized that thanks to the efforts of the president of the country, representatives of all religions are treated with deep respect in a multi-confessional Russia. "Tatarstan is a vivid example of this. Muslims and Christians have lived in harmony and peace in the republic for many centuries," he concluded.
Rustam Minnikhanov also drew attention to the fact that on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, he heads the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World". "I am sure we have good prospects for cooperation within the Group with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. The mission you carry is close to us - it is both the preservation of cultural and civilizational diversity, and the development of traditions of tolerance," said the president.
He also met with Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.
During the meeting, they discussed exports of Tatarstan-made products. "It is very important that in the current complicated geopolitical situation, relations between Russia and the UAE are an important factor of stability in the region and in the world as a whole," Rustam Minnikhanov said.
He noted that Tatarstan actively contributes to strengthening Russia-UAE relations.
The president of the republic invited the minister and the UAE delegation to visit KazanSummit next year, noting that the forum has become a federal event thanks to the support of the president of Russia.
