The Religious Board of Muslims of Tatarstan has said it is permissible for Muslims to use a vaccine against the coronavirus, the organization said.
Earlier, the organization reported that it had sent a request to producers of Russian vaccines against coronavirus to check their halalness and the possibility of using them to vaccinate Muslims.
"The Religious Board of Muslims of Tatarstan studied the Shariah side of the issue of vaccinating the population during epidemics, as well as the all-Russian experience in combating viruses and infectious diseases. Based on the information received, the organization reports the admissibility of using modern achievements in the field of vaccination to protect the population, including Muslims, from a new coronavirus infection," the report says.
This conclusion, it is noted, is derived on the basis of the Quran and the Sunna, stating the value of human life and the need to preserve it as a great gift, as well as on the basis of the principles and rules of Sharia, one of which states: "Circumstances of extreme necessity allow the forbidden". Thus, in the opinion of the Religious Board of Muslims of Tatarstan, regardless of the composition of the vaccination, vaccination in conditions of an epidemic is permissible to save the lives of Muslims.
The Religious Board of Muslims of Tatarstan advises Muslims to consult virologists, immunologists and other medical specialists, who are responsible for studying the problems and methods of fighting infectious diseases and to follow their recommendations.
